In 2012 Journey of the Universe won the regional (Northern California) EMMY® Award for Best Documentary. The awards ceremony took place in San Francisco on Saturday, June 9.
The EMMY® award is presented for outstanding achievement in television by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). The San Francisco/Northern California region includes entries released in 2011 from Northern California, Hawaii, and Reno, Nevada.
