Catholic sisters conserve 650 acres, learn regenerative agriculture

On Jan. 18, the Sisters of Loretto signed an agreement with the Bluegrass Land Conservancy to preserve more than 650 acres in Nerinx, Kentucky — that's about 80% of their land surrounding the Loretto Motherhouse Farm.

One of the larger conservation efforts among the 32,600 acres the conservancy has helped permanently protect, the sisters' protected lands include 110 acres of cropland, 242 acres of pasture and hayfields, and 265 acres of woodlands, reported NCR environment correspondent Brian Roewe.
