All three Indic traditions—Jainism, Buddhism, and Hinduism—affirm the presence of divinity not just in temples or churches, but in every particle of the universe. Jainism goes so far as to declare that every living being has a soul striving toward liberation. These teachings form the ethical basis of vegetarianism, rooted in ahimsa (non-violence) and karuna (compassion).
