Being surrounded by several feet of accumulated snow these past few weeks has made me reflect on the necessity of winter hibernation and the importance of settling into the deep quiet within and outside of us. These words are all connected; restoration, reserve, rest, resilience, resurrection.

If there is one thing we have learned from this recent collapse of Texas’s power grid, a largely independent state grid responsible for over 90 percent of its electric load, it is that we cannot go it alone – we need community, we need allies, we need to band together. For that reason, I am delighted to share this conversation with Kyle Meyaard Schaap, a young Christian preacher who served as the national organizer for Young Evangelicals for Climate Action for 6 years and is now the Vice President for the Evangelical Environmental Network. I hope his words will sustain and encourage you to find the “marvelous error” and remember that without fail, after winter comes a new spring.
