With Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim
The Living Earth Community is a digital project of the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology. It is in the lineage of the Journey of the Universe, which situates humans in the vast, evolving universe in which life has arisen. It also draws inspiration from Thomas Berry’s vision of the Great Work of our times to renew our sense of place in the dynamic life systems of our planet.
It gathers scientific, spiritual, humanistic and legal perspectives on the liveliness, intelligence and creative capacities of the natural world, and it supports scholars, spiritual leaders, educators, artists, lawyers and changemakers exploring more-than-human ways of knowing.
The website features curated resources – books, reports, multimedia and engaged projects – organised into four core sections:
- What Is a Living Earth Community?
- Intelligences of Nature
- Ecological Worldviews
- Earth Law
Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim co-direct the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology, which arose from ten conferences they organised at Harvard in the 1990s. They are series editors of the Harvard volumes from the conferences. They were students of Thomas Berry and edited all his books, and they co-wrote Thomas Berry: A Biography. Their other written works include Ecology and Religion and, as editors, the Routledge Handbook of Religion and Ecology. They are editors for the Orbis series on Ecology and Justice. They have created six online courses in Religions and Ecology.
This will be a Zoom webinar with Q&A. Please send your questions for Mary Evelyn and John to events@resurgence.org
