Contemplative Ecologists Circle

Event description:

May 28, 2020

7pm ET via Zoom

Join the Thomas Berry Forum for Ecological Dialogue to reflect on the richness and challenge of the selected teaching from the legacy of Thomas Berry
Spiritual Master of the Ecozoic Age

These monthly invitations are sent with a selection from Thomas Berry's writings to inform our shared silence and dialogue, and to foster us in The Great Work of cultivating a community of contemplative ecologists as a feature of our ecozoic vocation.

Please invite your friends and spread the word. We especially ask you to invite a young person to join our circle, as we do our ministry of mentoring the next generation of Earth Caretakers.

Our Contemplative Ecologists Circle has gone global! We hope that friends from Global South and North, integral ecologists East and West, gardeners and Earth caretakers all, will join us if their time zone and language will allow.

It is our hope that others will adopt the Contemplative Ecologists Circle as a format for expanding engagement with the wisdom writings of Thomas Berry.

Prompts for Our Lectio

1. As we reflectively read Thomas' word to us now in this grave season for Earth and World, peoples and creatures, what do you imagine his prophetic vision would see as one who so clearly read and understood the story/stories of our Mother Earth, her human offspring, her rich and resilient commune of life? What do WE see? Let us engage in contemplative dialogue with Berry and each other
What word of insight into this global pandemic might we speak together?
What word of critical analysis might we argue?
What word of hope might we offer?
What word of guidance might we give?
What word of warning might we exhort?
What word of promise might we hear?
