Ecojustice Resources

The 2015 Islamic Declaration on Global Climate Change states that the current state of our environment is a disruption of Allah's natural order and balance. This disorder has been caused by human interference, motivated largely by corruption (fasād) and greed in the “relentless pursuit of economic growth and consumption.” The Khaleafa statement on environmental injustice (author Khaled Dardir) says that the way this “harmony can be grasped is by living within our means with the other creations Allah bestowed upon us” and to live in such a way that our lifestyle causes suffering to other beings is against the way of Allah.
