Do you find yourself grieving the condition of our planet and our democracy, struggling to find a way to make an effective difference, yearning for a community that shares your commitment and vision of a different future? If you are near or over 60, we have an answer for you.
Th!rd Act is a nationwide community of Americans over 60 determined to build a better tomorrow using our life experience, skills and resources. We launch our Th!rd Act Connecticut work on November 14 at 7 p.m. via Zoom with Th!rd Act founder Bill McKibben, musician Paul Winter, and Connecticut elders like you – and hope you’ll join us.
Together we are building Th!rd Act Connecticut as a potent force fiercely determined to make a difference in our state on issues like fossil free finance, energy regulation, and full engagement in our democracy. We’ll join over 65,000 elders in other states in a nationwide movement. Committed to serious and substantive strategies, we will position our generation to leave a different, more hopeful legacy. We’ll address concerns like the investment of Connecticut banks and insurance companies in fossil fuels; increased public participation in energy decisions; democracy and voting; and environmental justice.
We intend to be an honest and authentic community, to lend one another courage, and to overcome paralysis and isolation in the face of the most important spiritual and political challenges of our lives.
