Rev. Pihkala is preparing his dissertation on Joseph Sittler and Ecumenical Ecotheology in the University of Helsinki under Prof. Risto Saarinen. Pihkala is at the moment in Chicago, researching the Sittler archives at LSTC and University of Chicago collections. He works as a writer and trainer in Christian environmental work, and is currently translating his book Nature and the Bible – On the Roots of Christian Environmental Education (“Luonto ja Raamattu”, 2010) into English.
Dr. Heltne’s office is easily reached by the Brown Line to the Irving Park station and a short half block walk to the east on Irving, just past the Metra tracks. Buzz his office for entry and walk or take elevator to the 4th floor, room 401. If driving, take Lake Shore Drive to Irving Park and come east to Ravenswood and park in the areas to the north of Irving. Note that parking is open after 10 am.
