Discussions: Climate Solutions and Climate Guide

Event description:

February 8, 2023

Don't forget to register for an interfaith discussion of Responding to Climate Change: a guide for personal reflection and group discussion led by Rev. Sarah S. Scherschligt on Wednesday, February 8th at 2:30pm on Zoom. Register here.

This 29 page guide includes a piece by Bill McKibben and an interview with climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe, emphasizing that every individual is capable of starting the conversation: “Who we are is already the perfect person to care about this.” The magazine, The Christian Century, published this guide as a free resource for faith communities to use to spark climate conversation.

All are welcome to attend, no matter how much of the guide you read.

Please also join us on Wednesday,  February 8th at 10:00am for our first monthly meeting to engage your faith community in the five climate solutions campaigns that we launched last week at our Climate Solutions Kickoff! This month we'll review all five campaigns and then dive deeper into Solar Sanctuaries – building resilience hubs to protect our most vulnerable neighbors in times of extreme weather. Next month, at 5pm on Tuesday, March 14th (same zoom info,) we'll explore our Tree of Life campaign and how the grounds of our faith communities can become havens for nature and climate resilience. Register today! And please invite your fellow faith members and neighbors.
