The writings of the Bahá’u’lláh describe the “essential relationship between man and the environment: that the grandeur and diversity of the natural world are purposeful reflections of the majesty and bounty of God” (Baha’i Statement on Nature, 1987). The statement goes on to say that the environmental issues we are facing today respect no boundaries, national, religious or otherwise. Therefore, “any attempt to protect nature, must, therefore, also address the fundamental inequities between the world’s rich and poor.”
