Patriarch Bartholomew has annually called attention to World Oceans Day (June 8) to 300 million Orthodox Christians. Leads interfaith and interdisciplinary study trips to seas worldwide to raise awareness of ocean conservation.

There are 300 million Orthodox Christians around the world. Annual celebrations and trips have encouraged collaboration among scientists, religious leaders, theologians, ethicists, economists, and politicians in addressing ocean conservation.
