On May 12, Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim will give a talk on “Creating a Shared Planetary Future” at St. Ignatius Loyola in New York. They will focus on Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical, Laudato Si.’  The encyclical is an invitation to respond to the “Cry of the Earth and the Cry of the Poor” and has been called the most important document of the 21st century by leading environmentalist Bill McKibben. Mary Evelyn and John will discuss why this message of ecological conversion is so essential to our times, and they will celebrate the Pope’s environmental legacy in light of his recent death.

This talk is part of the series “Lectures at St. Ignatius 2025: Pilgrims of Hope.”
