Article/Chapter Title:On the Ethics of Man's Interaction with the Environment: an Islamic Approach
Journal Title:Environmental Ethics
Author(s):Zaidi, Iqtidar H.
Date of Publication:1981
Issue:no. 1 (spring)
Annotation:Zaidi argues that the ecological crisis is actually a moral crisis and he demonstrates why the ecological crisis warrants an ethic grounded in a religious matrix that acknowledges a law with divine principles. Zaidi concludes by stating that faith in Islam translates into action, through what he terms “the process of decision-action”—a process that encompasses characteristics such as justice, piety, and knowledge.
