October 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the Forum on Religion and Ecology. The Forum was founded on October 20-21, 1998 at the United Nations and American Museum of Natural History culminating conferences of the 1996-1998 religion and ecology conference series of Harvard University’s Center for the Study of World Religions. This 20th anniversary will be celebrated at a special conference on October 26-29 entitled “Living Earth Community: Ways of Being and Knowing the World” at Oak Spring Garden Foundation in Upperville, VA, USA. Organized by Peter Crane, Mary Evelyn Tucker, and John Grim, the conference aims to explore multiple ways of knowing and multiple intelligences in the world, recognizing the value of indigenous, artistic, and modern ecological ways of knowing in which organic interconnectivity is acknowledged and affirmed.
