Larry Rasmussen to speak at Round Hill Community Church

Round Hill Community Church, in collaboration with Union Seminary, will present Dr. Larry Rasmussen in a full-day event at Round Hill Community Church in Greenwich on Saturday, February 2, 2019. The day is separated into two sessions. During the morning session from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, Dr. Rasmussen will present “How Do We Hymn the Earth in a Time of Climate Change?” In the afternoon, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Dr. Rasmussen will speak about “Why Religious Communities Matter to Climate Justice.”

Dr. Rasmussen is the author of the award-winning book, Earth-honoring Faith: Religious Ethics in a New Key (2013) and co-author, with Bruce C. Birch, Jacqueline E. Lapsley, and Cynthia Moe-Lobeda, also Union graduates, of Bible & Ethics: A New Conversation (2018). He is the Reinhold Niebuhr Professor Emeritus of Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He has served as the co-moderator of the World Council of Churches unit, Justice, Peace, Creation, among other influential positions.
