Beyond the Parochial: exploring global spirituality

Event description:

March 23-25, 2017

Scarritt Bennett Center
Nashville, TN, USA

Join us as we launch The World Wisdom Bible, an anthology of Perennial Wisdom teachings at the mystic heart of every religion. WWB is an antidote to the religious ignorance, arrogance, and fear gripping our world. This weekend, guided by our faculty, we will explore Perennial Wisdom, the sacred art of lovingkindness, and other spiritual practices for moving humanity past the narratives of us against them toward all of us together.

Faculty:
Rabbi Rami Shapiro, Ph.D., Director of the One River Foundation and editor of the WWB is the author of Perennial Wisdom for the Spiritually Independent.
Gordon Peerman, D.Min., Episcopal priest and therapist, directs Insight Nashville and is the author of Blessed Relief: What Christians Can Learn from Buddhists about Suffering.
Rev. Jason Shelton, Associate Minister for Music at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, will perform Perennial Vespers: Songs of Wisdom and Wonder from Around the World on Saturday.
Sheikha Camille Helminski, Co–director of Threshold Society is the author of Light of Dawn: Daily Readings from the Holy Qur’an.
