An Evening with Catherine Flowers and Karenna Gore

Event description:

7PM

Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine
New York City, NY, USA

How does your waste impact our planet, our living environment, and other human beings? What happens in rural communities in other parts of the country?

Join us at the Cathedral for a conversation with Karenna Gore, director of the Center for Earth Ethics at Union Theological Seminary, and Catherine Flowers, an activist from Lowndes County, Alabama, about the intersection of morality, climate, environmental and social justice. Catherine’s work has drawn attention to the inadequate waste disposal infrastructure in rural areas of Alabama, and she continues to make connections between these experiences and the broader American throw-away culture.
